Why Advertise at the Coldwater & District Curling Club?
The Coldwater & District Curling Club is a friendly club with a diverse active membership. This “small town” club has continually had global exposure, either through the pros who choose Coldwater as their home club or through the Rocks Around the Clock World Record attempt. If you’re looking for the best value for your advertising dollar the Coldwater & District Curling definitely delivers. Our loyal members strongly support advertisers and sponsors all year round. In 2001, Sherry Middaugh and Glenn Howard chose Coldwater as their home club. Between them, these world class teams have won numerous Provincial Championship banners which adorn the arena walls. In March 2007 the Brier Trophy visited the Coldwater Club as part of its cross country tour, prior to the Howard team winning it in Hamilton. On June 2, 2007 there was a celebration at the coach Bob Turcotte Coldwater Curling Club. Vic Rauter of TSN introduced over 400 people gathered on the arena floor to the 2007 Men’s World Curling Champions Team Glenn Howard. At the 2012 World Championship, Howard defeated Scotland in the Final to capture his 4th world title. Although Glenn Howard has since changed his home club, we are still very proud of his accomplishments while at the Coldwater & District Curling Club.
World Record Curling at Coldwater & District Curling Club
In October 2014, a group of 10 curlers attempted to set a world record for the longest marathon curling game, to raise awareness and money for local charities. After 79 hrs 15mins and 03 seconds the group achieved their goal and was awarded a Guinness World Record. The Coldwater and surrounding area rallied to support the Rocks Around the Clock world record attempt, and assisted in raising money for Gilda’s Club and Radio for Radiology Charities in Simcoe County.
